Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

I have been visiting my brother and yesterday we drove to Basingstoke to meet up with friends.  I first met them when I started dating my husband and we have been friends every since. Today we meet up with my brother one more time before returning home.  It's hard to believe the number of years since I last saw my brother.  I wish flights to Australia were cheaper and shorter!

I have been doing some collage while my husband was walking the dogs.  Using up some pieces that are years old.  The small book I have been working in is a few years old too.  One of my experiments with some 12 x 12 paper.  This one is 6 x 6 which is a nice size to work in and use up some of my 6 x 6 paper too.

I have completed the cover and all the left sides, which leaves the right hand sides to write in.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone x

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

I finished my "Snippets of the Psalms" little book.  Quite often I see my 9 year old Grandson at playtime. The other day I said hello and he asked what was I doing that day.  I told him I had started a book, but I felt it needed to be bigger and thought I might scrap it and start again.  He advised to carry on because once I had done it I could keep it as a template to help with the next one!   So I finished it and was quite pleased with it too.  He is so serious and very sweet sometimes!

I have five more papers collaged and ready to work on.

Next some Gecko Galz Challenges.  Images were free.  Steampunk Cat is the cover for a little book I made.

Gothic Crow on another page.

A Christmas card for the monthly challenge.

I had a set of small note cards which I hinged together.  The "hinges" were diecut.  the right side is a card front and the left side a back, In between the inside is white.

Since I want to do some collage pages, I thought I would sort my ephemera folders. So surrounded by boxes and folders here is where I was working most of yesterday.
I keep my ephemera in these folders as it makes it easier when we away in the caravan.  One side is the "lid" and the other is the base with a flap on three sides. The metal links have a flat side (base) and a round side.  On one of them the middle section is the wrong way round.  I noticed last year when I first used them that the pages were not fitting in very well and thought I had put them in the wrong way.  So I tried to put it right today and discovered the reason.  My husband is thinking how to fix it, I probably would have returned it had I realised, but I think it's a bit late now.

My husbands knee is improving each day and I think we will be off to see my brother on Friday.  My daughter is having a colonoscopy Thursday so the children are coming to us after school.  They are giving her a full anesthetic as "they want to have a proper look" :(

See you later x

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

I made another A3 collage with all the bits left over.  I think I rushed it, too many wonky pieces and I didn’t care for the combination.

So I gave it a coat of gesso, so far so good. Having decided on an accordion, I cut the paper in half and folded each length concertina style. Next I decorated each portion with napkin pieces.

I wanted it to blend, so I added a thin coat of gesso, not happy so I tried a little paint and more gesso.  Still not happy!  I added another layer of napkin.

Final stage still working on.

Finally, my dear husband has hurt his knee again (he did it last summer), my dear daughter said I should phone 111 which I did, they advised seeing the doctor, so I was on the Internet early this morning making a request when to our utter amazement my husband had a phone call about 10, from the hospital physio to go in for 11:40.  She didn't know what the problem is so he now has to have some blood tests.  Obviously we have put off the visit to see my brother in Gosport and hoping he will be well enough for next week.

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.  No photograph of my desk today - I forgot sorry!

These are my latest pages for Faith Inspirations, the foxglove path images and several individual foxglove images were free.  I love foxgloves so this was such a pleasure to do.  I printed foxglove path a second time, making it much lighter so I could write over it.  I have several distress ink dabbers and I used two of them the brown - which worked quite well and a shaded lilac which I used over gesso, but it wasn't as dark as I hoped.  The sponge head on the lilac had deteriorated so I applied it with a sponge.

Three ATC's for Gecko Galz ATC challenge.  All  the images are free with the challenge.

I have done four more collages.  I have blue scraps next to either do or bin!  I haven't decided yet :)

Wishing you all a very happy New Year, may 2024 be healthy and happy.

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

Jack is 17 today - according to Pets At Home who sent me an email.  We had him the beginning of January and we were told he was about a year old.  He can’t hear or see very well and is just a little bit lost some of the time, but he seems to be fairly happy most of the time.

A bizarre coincidence saw my son’s father in law and my daughter’s father in law in A&E yesterday.  My son’s FIL is home now, but my daughter’s FIL is still in hospital with suspected pneumonia.

I have been doing some collage, Mary Ann did a post about the same thing a while ago (see here).  It took me one session to cut all the pieces, followed by a nap and my heat wrap for my shoulders! Two more sessions to complete with a nap in the middle🙄.

The Christmas things are now put away.  We have just got back from shopping, my daughter asked me to get a card for her husband with a Tatty Teddy on.  It was third shop lucky, so she was happy.
