Gecko Galz challenge

I made a card for the Gecko Galz challenge.  The background is made from vintage rectangles and the owl was free from Gecko Galz.

 Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  It’s been another busy week and later today I have the dreaded Breast Test.  There will be plenty of grimacing!  I have finished my ATC’s - bar completing the details on the backs that is.

I was not happy with the way my Psalm study was going, not with the creative side nor the study side.  I ordered a book from Amazon.  Some of the pages had a design and I decided I wanted to cover this so I had more room.  I designed some narrow notes and printed off a great many, then I decided since I already had my study notes to print them.  This involved learning how to keep the text within a box shape. Simple enough to do when watching the tutorial, but very hit and miss on my own.  I think I have got it now, but will I remember? 🙄  I have printed them and added them to my book with washi tape.  I started decorating with some stickers that I really like, the don’t feel like stickers , unfortunately they are too big for some places.  They can be a pain to release form the plastic backing.

There are three books on my desk this week - four if you count the sudoku book.  The first one is hiding my ATC’s 😊. The second my Psalm journal and the third a photograph album that I have filled with my animal pictures.  I thought if I could see them easily I might be inclined to use them up.

Linking up with Julia’s Stamping Ground and looking forward to visiting you all x

 Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  My I have had a busy week so far.  Monday I had an exercise class and then we went to get our passports renewed.  We went to Mold Post Office, it cost £16 extra, for them to do everything.  It was the first time we have used this service, but they have got so picky with the photographs, I thought it was worth it

Yesterday I was trying to get my ATC's done and a lot of repainting went on!  The last one I gessoed over ready to start again.  I have completed two to my satisfaction.  I really need to get a wriggle on as we have to get the caravan ready soon.

The caravan had a recall as some had been leaking, so in it went, we started packing it when we noticed after a heavy day of rain it was leaking!  So back it went and not back yet :(

Some digital work done -The original on the left and after some work on the right.   And a postcard below.

The desk-

Everything out including stuff on the floor!

I went to meet my sister last week at a garden centre, I intended buying some plant pots, but my husband called me home because he found the caravan leaking.  I resorted to using a milk carton to repot my plant.  We actually went to a garden centre yesterday, just for a trip out.  I saw these cute dragons, I really liked them, my husband not so much !  Of course I forgot about the plant pots.

Linking up with the marvellous Julia at Stamping Ground.  See you all later x

 A warm welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Wednesday zoomed round again, the bank holiday throwing everyone out no doubt -or is that just me!   I have had several ideas for the WOYWW Anniversary ATC’s.  Including a digital design - I do love to design on my laptop. Somehow, even though the hours you spend designing can be as numerous as physical creations, digital designing is often seen as second best or even frowned upon in challenges.  I think it’s because people who don’t do digital design seem to think it’s simply a case of printing something out.  One of the advantages of digital design - if you save as you work - you can go back to an earlier stage if you feel you have gone “wrong”.  Of course there have been a couple of times when I have ignored that “rule” only to have my lap shut down because I hadn’t noticed it had become unconnected.  Totally lost work that way!

Mary Anne and I have been enjoying playing with vintage images.  Once Pinterest detects an interest it plagues your inbox with all sorts of goodies for perusal.  I keep saying to myself “no more”, but my self does not listen - doesn’t want to miss out!

You may remember the plants on the left from last summer.  The bowl on the right is only slightly bigger and is all I have left of trying to grow these "easy to grow" plants.

I have been thinking about getting one of these for a while.  I am hoping it will be useful.

Leaving you with a poem from The Poster Girl:

He left a daughter in the streets to live;
Her lithesome form by day and night we see.
Clad in grand gowns that artist lovers give;
Enticingly she smiles at you and me.

In many moods she waywardly delights
The passing moments of an idle hour.
Her name, The Poster Girl; the world she lights,
Her home, the hoardings and her foe, the shower.

Going to link up at Julia's Stamping Ground and then I am off to meet my sister for a coffee, so I will be around later.

Welcome to Crafting With Jack.  It’s Wednesday!  That means it’s “What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday" a day where a group of us link up at Julia’s Stamping Ground and go off visiting each other.  It would be great to do the visiting for real, but terribly exhausting as we are all over the UK and further away.

I have been busy designing papers and generally having digital fun. One of the things I had trouble with when I was doing my Christmas glue book was finding the right backgrounds for the 8 x 8 book.  A few weeks ago I made 100 backgrounds intended for my next book, but decided they added too much bulk and worked well on their own.  So I have been printing backgrounds, flowers and fish!  The pile is building for a session of cutting out!  I spent an hour yesterday trying to fix the error message on my printer.  I followed the guidance of the virtual help till I wanted to scream!!

Taking away the black cartridge fixed the problem, but then I had to phone and make sure they were sending me a new one.  My printer prints with only one cartridge. While on the phone I tried to renew the warranty, but was told I couldn’t because my 3 year old printer is now obsolete!

My desk

A closer look and spot the top left corner addition.  I took a photo when I was out the other day.  For £3 you get string and instructions.  Do you remember playing Cats Cradle?

My husband tried on his outfit, over his clothes!  Not the best place to take a photograph!  click here to see my March entries for Gecko Galz and finally - I saw this this morning.  Can you see the elephant head?
