WOYWW 765

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

I have been visiting my brother and yesterday we drove to Basingstoke to meet up with friends.  I first met them when I started dating my husband and we have been friends every since. Today we meet up with my brother one more time before returning home.  It's hard to believe the number of years since I last saw my brother.  I wish flights to Australia were cheaper and shorter!

I have been doing some collage while my husband was walking the dogs.  Using up some pieces that are years old.  The small book I have been working in is a few years old too.  One of my experiments with some 12 x 12 paper.  This one is 6 x 6 which is a nice size to work in and use up some of my 6 x 6 paper too.

I have completed the cover and all the left sides, which leaves the right hand sides to write in.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone x

Pretty collage pages Angela, a good idea to use up some of that 6 x 6 paper you have. I need to use some up too.
How lovely to meet up with your brother. My sister lives in Oz and it is a long time since I saw her now. Thank goodness for technology and Facetime. It is always lovely to have a face to face chat and see one another.
Have a good day/week Hugs, Neet 8 xx

So glad you've had a good trip to see your Brother...I couldn't agree more about flights to Australia! Really like your collages, so many of you Deskers are doing them that I might have to join in at some point, just need to find a reason, I'm not good at just doing stuff to sit in a book on a shelf...I've got enough of that already!!

How marvellous that you’ve been able to have a good time with your brother, it must be tough when he’s so far away. I love your collages, there’s a few on the desks today - I admire the results but never seem to be able to do it myself!

Loving the collage designs Angela, good way to use up some old stuff which I'm sure we're all guilty of keeping just in case! Pleased to hear you've had chance to spend time with your brother too. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x12x

Super collage pages, really special. I was a little confused with the Basingstoke reference then Australia, assuming now there is another one in Australia. Oh my, had you globe hopping a few times otherwise! Now I'm confused as to whose dogs. Maybe I shouldn't think too hard....

Yes I am looking forward to the new Faith Inspirations although had an email about it yesterday. There will be the Family meeting and the free mini kit from momentum too. I'll do both in my journal. Hugs BJ#07

Hi Angela saw your question. I have scribbled some circles on the paper and the top ones are diecut using a die by Presscut called bubbles. Hope that helps. Hugs Angela xXx

Loving the collages Angela - so pretty and so different to mine too. I can understand how you feel about your brother - I rarely saw mine in the 20 years he was in the US and Canada. Glad he is back in the UK permanently now. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Very pretty collages there. I'm glad you are finding time to craft in between visits although I'm sure you want to spend as much time with your brother as possible too. Have a great week. Lisa-Jane #10

Hi, Angela,

Regarding the Bittersweet Poems. Amazon has two used copies available. Cost: 4.95 US with free shipping. Not sure about the UK. There is a UK version from 1973, but the one I have is 1926 - 1963.

I sent the poem "Spartan Parents" to President Obama at the end of his presidency. I wrote that he and his wife had carried our nation with so much love, pride, elegance, and grace, that turning it over to 45 must have felt like being a Spartan parent.

The final verse reads:
And you my lord no word of pain you've spoken,
or vain regret, the early morning light
shows me that your composure is unbroken,
and that your hair has whitened in the night!
