WOYWW 763

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

I made another A3 collage with all the bits left over.  I think I rushed it, too many wonky pieces and I didn’t care for the combination.

So I gave it a coat of gesso, so far so good. Having decided on an accordion, I cut the paper in half and folded each length concertina style. Next I decorated each portion with napkin pieces.

I wanted it to blend, so I added a thin coat of gesso, not happy so I tried a little paint and more gesso.  Still not happy!  I added another layer of napkin.

Final stage still working on.

Finally, my dear husband has hurt his knee again (he did it last summer), my dear daughter said I should phone 111 which I did, they advised seeing the doctor, so I was on the Internet early this morning making a request when to our utter amazement my husband had a phone call about 10, from the hospital physio to go in for 11:40.  She didn't know what the problem is so he now has to have some blood tests.  Obviously we have put off the visit to see my brother in Gosport and hoping he will be well enough for next week.

Hope your hubby is fit enough for visiting the family soon Angela - good that he got a quick physio appointment though. Loving the process for that concertina journal. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

We only ever hear the negative press about the NHS, it does work really well most of the time and I’m glad your hubby got appts so quickly. I enjoyed seeing the layering/gesso process, fascinating especially when you put the last layer on but could still see details from the precious layer - very effective!

Oh dear, poor hubby! I hope things work out well for him. Your page just shows what you can do if you keep on going with a piece that you don't like! Well done! Lindart #18

Hi again Angela, saw your question. The technique with the plastic bag was the only one I didn't get round to though I plan to give it a go. I used the balloon and that was fun. I'm really enjoying this and I have lots of old techniques that I want to add to it too. You will see more soon I'm sure. Hugs, Angela x11x

Gosh lots of layers going on there Angela. I liked each one individually, love the patchwork, music and flowers too. If I hadn't read it I'd have thought they were all different things. Sorry to hear of your hubby's knee, but what quick service after the 111 call, hope you get to the bottom of it soon and he recovers so you can make your visit. Hugs BJ#14

Lovely work Angela, I do love the patchwork in such pretty sunny colours and it's great seeing the layering you are doing and how it's all building up. I hope your hubbies knee is good to go soon and you get to visit family.

Well that was a fabulous reaction from the physio department! I took a friend to Salisbury for a hospital appt yesterday, involving a scan and a mammogram. I had to drop her off because we couldn't park. Her appt was on time and it took me forty minutes to park. When Asher appointment finished, we had a cuppa in the cafe because she was a bit shaken, by which time it was 4pm. Traffic was backed up all around the hospital site for no reason other than numbers...too till 530 to get off the site and we didn't get home till 615 because Salisbury in the rush hour isn't good either. I hope for the sake of hospital staff and visitors that it's not like that everyday! Shame about your trip to Gosport, let's hope for a speedy resolution, especially if the physio couldn't tell why. I love the collage, even when you say it's wonky and disordered, it isn't to my eye, and it's almost unrecognisable from start to finish! Amazing work. You really have patience dont you.

ooh sorry you had to cancel your plans, hope hubbies knee improves soon (I know what thats like I fell last week and landed on my knee!) and you can get to Gosport (not been there for years). I like the idea of adding thin layers of gesso over pages, as you say it gives you a bit more of a background.
running really late this week!
