I watched a tutorial on simple watercolour flowers last week. It doesn’t seem to work for me although I was happy enough with the flowers I did. It’s either the artist (me) or the materials. The same person showed her art materials - all high quality. I am debating on ordering the same materials just to see!
These were some stencilled pieces that I have never been sure what to with!
My scripture writing challenge is going well. My dear husband’s birthday is today so we are going out for a meal. This afternoon I have a hospital appointment (audiology). I will be around to see everyone later.

It might be more worth splashing out on really good quality paper than new watercolours Angela - it can make a big difference. The flowers look good to me . Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
Which tutorials did you watch? I have found Nianiani, Karen Rice and Emma LeFebvre very useful on YouTube, nothing too scary either but some good tips. Better paper will help, I use Daniel Smith watercolour paints which are highly pigmented and lovely to use. Good luck!

I’m going to stick my neck out Angela and say that I think I recognise your water colour painting…very pretty flowers, but like me, I think you’re being a bit reluctant with the water. I bought some decent watercolour paper and that helped me to throw the water around a bit more, but there’s no precision once you start adding the paint, if it’s clean outlines you’re after, watercolour is not for you…ask me how I know!! Still , I never spend a couple of more hours with paint and water that I don’t enjoy!

I don't think the expensive toys will make much difference, just try, try and try again, it's all in the learning process.

Happy birthday to your hubby. Taking in clothes is usually possible but letting clothes out is more than often not because there is rarely extra fabric in the seams…sorry.

You watercolour flowers are lovely! They are very similar to the ones I made in Fodder School. I fussy cut them out and use in my journal! I love the way you made your words, great idea for a journal page. Good use of that stencil! I am always envying other people's expensive paints, but I have good old Prang watercolours, the ones they use in grade schools! Seem to work just fine. Hope you both have a good evening. There are lots of Black Friday deals at the mo on good watercolour paint and paper. You need the watercolour paper to cope with the water. If you prefer, you could try Inktense pencils. They act like crayons but when you add water they become much brighter and dry as permanent so you can add layers.
Your flowers look lovely anyway.

I think your watercolouring is coming along nicely but agree better quality paints sure makes a difference. In my Bible they don't rub off (chalky residue) like my cheaper ones but some do show though the thin pages (reds) Water colour paper also makes a difference, but still happy using Bible pages. love the little squares, must try those. I have just made a water colour card for my son's birthday. As for Jade's prayer journal, not tried that yet nor the victorious woman. Trying not to get too bogged down with challenges at the moment. Love what you did with the paint stripe though. Hugs BJ#14
