WOYWW 730

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  We are having beautiful weather and yesterday I got sunburnt!  I was sat outside, there was a nice breeze and I didn't feel myself getting hot - What an idiot I am!  I have been putting E45 lotion on it.  I am not someone who sits out in the sun, but we were visiting someone and there wasn't any shade ( if I had thought about it which I didn't).

I have finished my 100 backgrounds - Yay me!!  I prepared them before we left and so far two have gone on to be completed,  six are mid way and the rest ae just backgrounds.  I don't know how many geletos I had in the beginning so I can't be exact, but I have emptied and thrown away probably eight or nine.  Do you remember the film "The Karate Kid".  in the film the boy had to practise by washing and polishing the teacher's car, the phrase was "wipe on, wipe off".  Which basically is what the geletos seem to do!  I was using them directly onto the gessoed backgrounds then using water to activate them with either a sponge or brush and off they would come.  I decided I like the collage text showing underneath so it didn't matter.  Then I started adding a little of other colours to make a grungy effect.  Often I couldn't repeat the process to get the same result, hey ho!

The top two have Infusions added to them, I was a little heavy handed so a lot had to be sponged off.

The top left one is green swirls made by moving the medium about, when it was dry, I went over it with blue, finally gluing a white tissue layer over it to keep the density (top right).  The bottom two have had a sheet of kitchen roll pressed down, very hit and miss with this medium.  All in all some good backgrounds, but that's all they are at the moment!

Joining up with Julia's Stamping Ground and look forward to seeing you all later.

Hi Angela, can't wait to see what you do with these gorgerous paperts. We've had nice weather here too though it's rained through the night and still quite damp but we neaded it really. You said you showed your hubby the cabin but I wondered if you had shown him the complete build which you can find here: https://angelacabinjob.blogspot.com/2020/08/diary-of-new-cabin-studio.html I think he might like it. This links right from the beginning when we took down the old shed. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x8x

Hi it's me again. not sure that link works and if you can't get there the link is the photograph of the cabin on the right handside just above Daisy and Alfie, titled Cabin Studio Fun and that does work. Hugs, Angela x8x

Lovely backgrounds Angela, must say the blue/green ones really float my boat. Put me on a table at a workshop and I can guarantee I will end up with blue/green as my finished piece, just love those colours. Is it because I am a Pisces?
Be careful in this sun.
Hugs, neet xx

I love all the backgrounds! I look forward to seeing the next stages. Thanks for visiting. The Dina goodies I tend to get from Art From the Heart, everything else usually comes from Stampers Grove in Scotland. their service is outstanding but they don't have a lot of Dina stuff. Helen #2

They have come out really well, each so useful and so different! Now you’re a backgrounds librarian, you’ll be able to just flick through looking for your background of choice. There’s a couple there that I wouldn’t mind scaling up for wallpaper! Sorry about the sunburn, it’s very easy to get caught out when there’s a breeze, or indeed, a wind that actually was quite chilly here yesterday. I recommend Sudocrem, they may sell it a a nappy rash cream but it’s absolutely brilliant on any type of burn, particularly takes the sting off sunburn.

I caught the sun on Gower last Friday! We were walking and the breeze disguised the strength of the sun, luckily it’s gone brown now. Love the differing backgrounds, those turquoise blues are glorious!

Ouchy for the sunburn, hope it soothes soon, more E45 methinks. I sat in the sun today but thought just 2 songs and I'm in again. Loving the backgrounds they are super. Just to let you know I'm a bit confused about the anniversary SWAP, are you waiting until you get back or did I get it wrong or has it got lost or something? Thought we'd agreed to SWAP long before the anniversary and hopefully mine will be waiting for you when you get back. Anyway, not to worry, just wondering that's all. Hugs BJ#7

This is for all deskers regarding the Refrigerator/Freezer (R/F) debacle so I don't have to answer questions about it. Friend Sally is a member of our neighborhood (NH) online group and checked to see what available in our NH. She found a guy selling a R/F who lived about five blocks from me. I walked over and, even though I wanted a French Door R/F with a bottom freezer, I decided to buy this used R/F the NH man promised to deliver to my home right away. I spent all of Wednesday evening and Thursday getting the food out of the old R/F and into the new one. The used fridge looks very much like my old one. In fact, they are the same size and design. The man guaranteed the R/F for 90 days, so I couldn't beat that. Now I can take my time and buy the R/F I want and get it delivered in the time I want and not feel pressured or experience any lost food.

I'm a background junkie, so I was awed by your lovely and colorful backgrounds. They are stunning.

Sorry to read about you getting sunburned. I got it once when I even peeled. I hope yours wasn't that bad.

You asked how many rocking horses I have. IL stopped counting when I hit four hundred. I would say probably 425 or so. Happy WOYWW from # 3.
