WOYWW 728 - 14 th Anniversary!

Welcome to Crafting With Jack  on a cloudy day near Penrith.  Today is the 14 th Anniversary of What's On

Your Workdesk Wednesday.  The day we share what we have been up to,  I have been a member since 2019,  I can tell you it is a lovely group to belong to.  We link up at Julia's Stamping Ground.

I have been playing around with geletos, do I like them? - no!  They are not as easy as the tutorials make them out to be.  I cut up three, a fluorescent orange, a yellow and a small amount of brown, having worked out these colours made something near the colour I was after.  I mixed them with several blobs of gesso, the colour changed as the different elements dissolved.  The 8 inch squares were my first mix, the second mix I wanted darker.  The colours are not entirely accurate.

I used a plastic cleaning tool on some of them which gave a lovely texture.  I bought it for kitchen use, but my husband took one look at it and decided to bin it!  So I claimed it for my craft room.  It does a very good job of cleaning hands too.  I can't decide whether to go over the ones I didn't use the tool on or not.

This site has no wifi, no mobile phone signal, I have to go out to find one, so I might not make it round to everyone this week.  I wish everybody a happy anniversary xx

Happy 14th WOYWW! Thank you so much for your lovely ATC, yours will be waiting for you when you get home from your travels! I like the colours you’ve been working with but have no idea what gelatos are! (Apart from delicious Italian ice creams that is!!)

Thank you for your lovely ATC, my word you were so well organised! There can’t be many sights left that have no signal or Wi-Fi now, however attractive it sounds to some, I think the majority would not want to be without now, I know I’d struggle! Hope you haven’t had to walk miles with your phone in the air to get this posted! I reckon Mary Anne or Shazza’s archive will reveal to me what they did and thought of gelatos. I haven’t any experience at all and am fascinated by your opinion- they were soooo popular! Or was that just great marketing? The nosiness in me needs to know! Hope your travels continue good and wholesome!

Hello there Angela glad you made it, it is always such a challenge when you are away!! Be careful with all your craft stuff on the floor you could turn in to Helen!! I too am not 100% sure about gelatos but its probably part practice part luck - like so many crafty techniques!! Happy Anniversary, Love n hugs Cindyxx #7

Hello! I made the decision to comment even if I had to sign n to Google to do it. Sadly Google sometimes (but only in the blogging platform is blogspot (DOH which I know see you are)) wants me to change my browser settings to allow third party cookies...
Ah well, we speak via email and that works for me. I'll try to post this but based on my experience already it won't appear for you....
I enjoy our chats and love your gelato bits. they look interesting as backgrounds so don't give up on them!
Happy 14th Anniversary WOYWW

Great perseverence with the gelatos Angela - I had never thought of mixing colours in that way before. Love the textural effect. Happy 14th WOYWW Anniversary. Stay safe. Sarah #4

Hi Angela, I love your results even if they weren't what you expected. I'm learning to go with the flow these days and not be so hard on myself if things don't turn out how I planned. I love that you have a go and play around, a lot of enjoyment comes from the process. The textures are superb. Anyways, I have an ATC earmarked for you and have your address so when I have sorted the rest out it will be on it's way... Happy 14th anniversary Hugs BJ#18

I don't have wifi, but I have a home computer which is linked to the internet. I have never seen gelatos, much less played with them. I know they are loved by many of my mixed media friends. I love that texture you got. Hope you find wifi. Happy 14th Anniversary from # 3.

Hi there. I am a little late visiting. After being absent for sometime I really didn't want to miss saying hello on this special WOYWW. I think I would find it difficult not having WiFi etc. Take care Anne x 20

Hi Angela, I saw your question about ther bees. They really didn't seem intersted in me, I think they were busy. Although the ducks weren't interested in the fish they can stress them and cause polution and I have enough to do keeping the water in a good condition. We started with a very small pond and you can keep gold fish in quite a small space as long as you have a good filter but Koi are a different thing all together. I love having them but there is quoite bit of work involved though I don't bother with some of the things that people do. Some of my fish are well over twenty years old and could be much bigger but I wont over feed them as this means less pressure on the filters. The fox was unbelieveable, he was so friendly and just kept following us. Hope you're having a nice time. Hugs, Angela xXx
