WOYWW 721

A warm welcome to Crafting With Jack and another "What's On Your Wordesk Wednesday"  My husband had a slight scare this morning when it took him a while to wake Jack.  I know how Jack feels in the morning sometimes specially when having a nice dream.

So what have been up to this past week?  We have had my MIL to stay and I didn't like to go into my craft room unless she was asleep!  Also, convinced that everybody needs something to do, my husband asked me to print some large Sudoku, that wasn't too difficult although I did have to retype the numbers as they were blurry when enlarged.  Sudoku seemed a little too much for her so I tried wordsearch.   The first one I just copied and it came out well, however, I couldn't find a second one to copy.  I ended up making up one and although the next one will be a lot easier, the first one took ages as my method was a bit clunky!  Of course MIL went home today and didn't take it with her!

I am sure my husband will have me making more!  I also have been doing a load of typing for my neighbour.

This called Stormy!  I haven't decided if it is a storm on land or under the sea!  It started off as a collage, then I decided to use up some crackle paint.  One unopened one was rock hard, the rest were very gloopy.  I loved the pearly grey, but the mustardy colour so I suddenly thought about some tiny, tiny beads I had.  I was fairly happy with the result, left it to dry and when it did the grey - which had crackled nicely, was  flaking off.  I covered it with Modge Podge (something else to use up!) and what with wordsearches haven't gone anything else to it.

I made some ephemera, feel free to download this and also to email me for a higher resolution.

I have also been playing with flowers.  The top left is the original I cut out from a picture downloaded from Rawpixel, the top right has a crackle effect from my picture Stormy.  The bottom three roses, are from a free photograph, the original colour orange.

This is for Gecko Galz Steampunk Challenge for March.

Linking up with Julia's Stamping Ground.  Finally something to make you smile.

That was kind of you to go to the trouble of making the word searches and sudoku, I’m sure they’ll get used next time. I like the abstract picture and bet that everyone will see something different in it! The upside down cat was a cutie too!!

Love the stormy piece and just take a bow for doing the soduko and the wordsearch - not everyone would spend time like that and she will use them next time.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

You always come up with such gorgeous projects and I love the Stormy piece, great texture. I don't do Soduko but I'm sure it's interesting to do. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x11x

I like the Stormy piece you did, but to me it looks like a beach - maybe a storm coming up to a beach? Anyway, that was very kind of you to try and make some puzzles for your MIL. You could probably buy a word search book and just enlarge it a little on your photocopier, one page at a time. Have a wonderful week! Lindart #16

Love the steampunk interpretation, and aren’t you wonderful for making up a word search and going to all that trouble, I’d have popped to the newsagent, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to make one…I’m sure your Ma In Law will kick herself when she’s settled and realises she’s left it behind! So glad Jack was just fast asleep, argh these little bits of your heart really test us, huh!

Hi Angela, just replied to your email and realised you are a no-reply blogger so I'm putting it on here instead! Yes the Handprinted links are great - they are a really good source for info and products concerning all sorts of print techniques. Sally Hirst is a brilliant printer who does tutorials and talks about different presses, and she's easy to find if you Google her. There is also a Face Book group called Craft Press Printmakers that's all about printing using only craft presses, and you can glean all sorts of little hints and tips from them. The Big Shot Pro is popular at the moment since the XCut was discontinued. I hope this helps if you decide to have a go - I love printing but have never had room (or the finances) to justify getting a proper printing press, so using a craft press is ideal.

Hi Angela, no reply blogger means the email address when I look at your reply shows that phrase as the address and means you won't receive my message - a lot of people have that, I think I probably do too but to be honest I have no idea how to change it and just haven't got round to looking into it. It just means I have to check before I click 'reply' to people!
I love your comment that there's always something interesting to have a go at - I almost dread finding a new arty interest as it usually means having to squish more stash into my already stuffed to capacity work room!!
