WOYWW 748

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing. This week I have again been doing both digital and also in my craft room.  Yesterday The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge: Remembering Janis Woolbright started.  All the details can be found on the start page.

I made a journal out of a pad of 12 x 12 papers.  It is based on an envelope journal which I mucked up from the start because I didn't add any overlap!  I carried on regardless and then realized I didn't like some of the patterns next to each other.  So I designed some new papers and used them to cover the corner pocket and the slight gap between the flaps.  I also designed some toadstools, one set quite colourful.

My initial plan was to collage each flap, but there was too much pattern everywhere, so some flaps I cut off and I made a full page flap.  I used the reverse of some pages to make backgrounds and cover the flap on the left.

This journal used about 14 12 x 12 papers, but there are 48 in the pad so my "use it up" policy progresses slowly!  Finally my desk, busy, messy and you can't see the floor πŸ˜ƒ.

A messy desk is always the best, full of things to see, love it. I also love how you are using the papers and hope we get to see more of this journal as it progresses. Have a lovely week and a happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x1x

Never heard of the Cat Lover's blog hop before, but so glad to read you are a helper. Nice to see what you look like, too.

Those are some very special papers. You are finding very clever ways of using that pad of paper. Those are some very special and colorful toadstools.

I am headed to bed now, but I wanted you to know how grateful I am for you and the book you sent. You have truly made my day and week and month. Happy WOYWW from # 4.

Great way to use up your paper pad. Fun colors and enjoy the results while creating. Your desk looks happy...and your floor no doubt just like mine!!
How I can have so much STUFF creating a small project is beyond me. I think I need help. Enjoy a good week.

I love your pages and how you’ve used your envelopes, Angela, and your toadstools are great. They always remind me of something Terry Pratchett said: ‘All toadstools are - once.’
Take care and happy WOYWW

I have to come back and read this again, not sure it all went in the first time!! I have mountains of 12 x 12 so need some (easy?) ways to deal with it. what a lovely challenge that is to remember your fellow crafter. Will try to keep up with some of the makes!! Have a good week, love n hugs, Cindy xx #14

Love the sight of your busy messy desk, makes me very happy. I'm wit( you, too many flaps and then it's a flap book not a journal. I differ in that I'm ok with patterns buffering against each other, especially if I can call it done!! I'm pretty pleased, thus far, of my 'use it up' attempts, but have to say that so far I haven't even thought about my 12 x 12 colllection, it's been centred on my scrap box!!

I've never heard of an envelope journal before...I will have to look it up! But I see what you mean by all the contrasting images. And I do like your "use it up" policy. That's why I cut all my papers down to card size and put them all in a shoe box, I do use them more often now for bit and pieces for collage, card backgrounds and stuff. I did keep some 12x12s like Graphic 45 papers. But I think it's a good policy! And I love the toadstools! Thanks for your visit, have a great week! Lindart #19

Oh Angela, those toadstools are fabulous.
I never knew there was a Cat Lovers group so I think I must follow the link you provided.
Got a bit lost regarding what you were doing but I like the look of those envelopes - your own design - works so well with them.
Well, your desk certainly looks busy but very interesting.

Not entirely sure how the 12x12s are used here, but the journal looks great. Love the toadstools. Yes as for the Conference I do it in "real time" and stay up till 1am. That's pretty normal for me anyways and I can sleep in the day if I need to. I find if I don't do things as they happen, they don't get done. I purchased one of their previous conferences but hardly looked at it! I know now I can skip the sponsors giveaway timeslots as I know I can't receive any physical prize as I don't have an American postal address. No matter, all the freebies are far in excess of what I'll ever need anyway. Are you doing the conference too? Hugs BJ#16
