Welcome to Crafting With Jack and another What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Today has been beautiful, we went to Whitehaven had a walk around the town and the harbour. We were totally amazed to see a young seal. At least I thought she was young (he/she?) the seal was basking at the end of a causeway and drawing in quite a few admirers.
I have been experimenting with gelatos. Finding out what pens work on top. The answer is not a lot, sharpies work. but vary depending whether the gelatos have been used thinly. Ink pens bleed. The geletos don’t seem to mix as well on cheap paper, and obviously if you over work any paper it objects, they are fine over gesso. The jury is still out on whether I like them or not.I have always loved photography, art and all types of craft. Currently I am in love with Mixed Media and making journals...... The piece on the left was another experiment - sunset on a swamp perhaps? I went to a craft shop in Whitehaven and got the stamps on the right. At £1 each I thought it was worth it, I only wanted a few of each.
I am very happy with this piece (over looking the smudgy stencilling). Do you remember my stamp I made the other week? I used the outline to make a stencil and used the geleto. I thought I ruined a sharpie trying to outline the shape, but it seems to be working after rest. I used a liquid ink pen, smudging it to great the darker areas.
I am up to Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd in my Psalms study, such a beautiful Psalm.
That's all from me. Hoping some one will link me up to Julia's as I am still having problems x

It’s always interesting see your projects Angela as I’m a non papercrafter, I have no idea of what gelatos are and how you use them! Hope you’re having a good break away, that little seal was so cute, hope it was ok. Thanks so much for your early ATC, I shall be posting mine soon so it’ll be there on your return!
Hugs LLJ 12 xx
Hi Angela, can't remember if I said the ATC had arrived so thank you for that. I checked to see if you'd been linked in and you have. I did a few visits earlier but then went out in the garden so wasn't here when you sent your comment. We've got someone coming to do some work in the garden and needed to get sorted as he's back again tomorrow. Hope you're having a nice time. I will send your ATC soon but as you are away having a nice time I guess there's no rush. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x10x
I find gelatos mix better over a layer of gesso too Angela. Good to get tips about pens that work with them. Loving that page (didn't notice the stencilling until pointed out lol). Stay safe and Happy WOWYW. Sarah #5
Keep going with your gelatos, they can be great (not that I've used mine in an age...as with everything else!!) sorry you're having trouble getting linked, glad that someone helped out. Have a great week Helen #2
I'm playing catch up with my favourite blogs. It's been a full on day and I had 2 customers to come after Louie went home [and their sewing to do of course].
I love all that you've been experimenting with.
Hugs,

Sorry it to me so long to link you, didn’t get a chance to look at my phone til after lunchtime. I hooked up with a chum and went for a very long and lovely stroll around a very good garden centre ; best way to get the car serviced! Fascinated by your take on the gelatos..I must say that if they don’t allow for most media on top of them they aren’t much use as background creators! I love the goldfish panel, wonderful background and no evidence of wonky stencilling at all! Thanks for your ATC, it’s arrived but I haven’t looked at it yet..saving it as a mini surprise!
I've never tried Gelatos, I like the effects on your experiments but they sound like their use is limited. I love the goldfish piece, it's gorgeous. Thank you so much for the ATC, I shall be sending mine out next week. Thanks for your visit to mine - I'm trying to work through the book in order otherwise I'll just cherry-pick certain ones and never go back to the ones that I might find more challenging - and it's good to get out of ones comfort zone now and again I find!
Hope you have a great week,
Diana xx #16
Glad you managed the link up in the end. I have no idea still what on earth gelatos are!!! Ho hum - never mind I have quite enough craft stuff without bothering about more new stuff. Yes I'm still doing the psalms, just did 103 today (yesterday) the plan on YouVersion is 106 days long for the 150 psalms. Love your fish page didn't see any smudging, it's looks great to me. Hugs BJ#13
What a pretty face on the seal.
I have never owned or even seen a gelato, but I was most impressed and read with anticipation at the various ways to use or not use them. Your goldfish entry is gorgeous. I don't see any smudging at all. Happy WOYWW from # 1.
Seals are so great aren't they, don't seem to understand what the fuss is about though!
Love your Psalm Study, yes, 23 is very encouraging.
have a good week

Keep playing with the gelatos... somewhere I have a file suggesting different ways to use them. I wonder where it is...
Lots of lovely items to look at this week...
Happy WOYWW!
