WOYWW 811

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Sarah's Craftshed and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

It’s now half past ten and breakfast (scrambled eggs) is finished and I am ready to start my blog.  Last night I decided I would get up as soon as I awoke (not counting getting up at 3:45 for the loo!). It was ten past nine when I awoke!  I don’t seem to wake up early in the winter months, okay I’ll admit it, it’s along time since I was awake earlier🤣 though I often am awake in the early hours and often go downstairs for a cuppa.  I blame my husband as he doesn’t wake up early either.  His grandmother used to get up at six every morning!

I can’t possible show my craft room, or maybe I can with just clearing the middle so I can display my latest goodies.  I am constantly trying to squeeze a little more room in my craft space by reorganizing and frequently say things like “I had forgotten about that!”

On the left is a black book which my husband took the middle out of yesterday morning and I am putting my Christmas journal inside, so the cover has to be covered and the signatures sewn in, I might try holding them in with ribbons or twine instead.  On the right is a box I was given “to do something with” and as it was on top of the Christmas box it came down with it.  In the middle are my recent goodies.  I don’t usually get lucky in sales, but I couldn’t resist these Tracy Easson stamps, a Woodware one and two Matt Tints.  I also bought a mdf reindeer and sleigh which is waiting to be built up.

This arrived yesterday, often things are smaller than I thought, not this one!  My new printer is, well, big!

Finishing with a picture of my dear MIL and me at a garden centre.

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas!

Hope you find a way to secure your Christmas journal pages in. I ought to make a bit of space in my living room (it's where my craft stuff lives too!) so I can feel a bit more Christmassy next week! Well done on the bargains. Happy WOYWW and merry Christmas xx Helen #2

People often give me stuff ‘to do something with’ as well! Some I keep but I’m quite good at giving what I won’t use straight to the charity shop, someone else can have the pleasure instead. It’ll be interesting to see how you fit your journal pages into the book cover, you’ll have to show us in the New Year!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy 2025,

I can never wake up early in the winter either! It doesn't help that it is so dark in the mornings. I have been needing to reorganize my craft room too. Thanks for reminding me! I also really want to have the carpets cleaned in there. The picture with your MIL is lovely! Hope you have a great Christmas!

Hi Angela. I'm back home at last as we've been visiting friends and picking up the Christmas cake and probably talking too much Lol! I don't go to bed early enoughj to get up too early and the dogs are lazy too so they don't wake up early either. Love the photo of you and MIL at the garden centre. Wishing you a very happy woyww Christmas. Hugs Angela x9x

Merry Christmas and a Happy New WOYWW Year to you.

love the photo of you both at the garden centre. My Xmas cake recipe is 1kg dried fruit mixed with 600ml of liquid (eg choc milk, juice, tea or coffee etc). stir and leave to soak overnight. Stir in 265g self raising flour, I also add some cinnamon and mixed spice too. Grease and line a 23cm cake tin, you can add some pecan nuts to the top of the cake and bake at 160 deg for 1-1.5 hrs. BUT this makes 2 cakes!!! Enjoy
