Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Sarah's Craftshed and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.
I haven’t done a great deal, but I did do 3 portraits, of which this is the best one, all using the same reference picture, which is a painting by Cyprien Eugene Boulet.
I really like this painting. I might have another go this week.
I bought a Dan Brown book "Origin" from a charity stall a few weeks ago. I actually bought it for an art journal (to go with all the other books I have already bought!), my husband read it and enjoyed it and now I am reading it too. I don't think it is as good as previous books of his. I read them for the story, but with a healthy dose of scepticism and Google by my side🤣🤣. Some facts are interesting like details of a cult church with it's own pope, split from the R C Church, but I must admit I am a bit bored with it.
My cold is gradually improving, thank you for all your good wishes.

Well done with the portrait, it’s not easy copying pics like that but it’s a strong image! Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better, there are so many bugs around aren’t there?

Now that's a question Angela! I think there were about six colours used in the Masterboard but I made it over a few weeks as I couldn't decide how to go with it so it ended up with lots of layers. Thanks for asking. Happy crafting, Angela x10x
Well done on your artwork - a lovely way to challenge yourself and a perfect activity for these chilly winter days. x x Jo 🌈
Really glad you are feeling better Angela. Your portrait looks great! Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
Super portrait sketch, love the shading round the face into the hairline. Hugs BJ#12
Lovely portrait sketch! You get better every time! I haven't read Origin, but it's now on my Christmas list. I love Dan Brown! I have seen several reviews from 5 star to 2 star! I would like to give it a try! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #15
Good to hear that you're turning the corner in terms of shaking off the cold, they do linger don't they, ugh. That is a very pretty portrait, am very admiring of your copy, certainly not what would ever occur to me to try! Good old Dan Brown, trouble is once you've read one, the next one seems to have a format...
