Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Linking up at Sarah’s CraftShed.
I take we are all hot, hot, hot! Somehow I forgot Wednesday follows Tuesday, so I was surprised to see it was Wednesday on my IPad this morning! We moved sites yesterday, the site is rather cramped and our pitch has no shade! You never know exactly what you are going to find when you arrive and we almost never go to the same place twice. When we got back last year we decided to buy a fan and it was such a good idea.
This is my favourite, I used pencil crayons over some ephemera for the background. I did think of making the circle on the left a moon and maybe ladybirds on the toadstools. The ladybird stickers are a bit too shiny, if you know what I mean. I did read clear gesso would take the shininess away.
On the ICAD challenge
Website, Tammy showed samples of ICADs and these strip cards were one idea I tried and liked. I think they need a focal point, but meanwhile I used up a lot of scraps!
The top left is another scrap buster! My printer is in another room so when I went to collect my printouts I saw the printer was running out of ink and had produced this pale lilac/pink colour. I should have binned them there and then! I used some for this and binned the rest.
Taking photographs in the caravan is a bit of a pain as the light is never that good. I bought this little gadget and it works well. I am always a bit dubious even if the ratings are good. There were a lot of more expensive ones (this one was £25).

Lol, your strip cards are exactly what I’m doing but in fabric!! I am enjoying getting the maximum possible out of the materials and ending up with something useful. That little light is very handy, great that you’re pleased with it! I hope the lack of shade at the site isn’t too horrendous for you, the temps are dropping at the weekend so hopefully we’ll all be more comfortable.

Dashing around quick before the heat builds...
Oh crikey - I can't imagine not having shade in this heat. I think I would just drive around with the AC on till the heat breaks and swap out the driving duties, one sleeps, one drives LOL! Loving the ICADs and those mushrooms are fab - not sure about clear gesso but matte medium will def. dull the shine!
Happy far, FAR too hot WOYWW

I bet you're pleased you bought the fan. The clear gesso works well, try one coat then let it dry and if necessary add another. No idea where I got that from but it does work. I am hoping it will cool down at the weekend as I'm off to the Craft Club. Love your fungi they are beautiful. Using scraps is something I need to do more of for sure. Enjoy your time away. Wishing you a very happy and hopefully cooler woyww. Hugs Angela x8x
I think it goes without saying that I am really struggling with this heat. Even with the air-con 24/7 in my craft/bedroom the temp has climbed up to 24 degrees today and at that temperature I stop functioning at the best of times. The rest of the house is way hotter so I'm only leaving my room for food/drink and very quick bathroom breaks today. Roll on Sunday and hopefully a break in the weather. Oh you are funny with the day of the week ditty but to be honest we write the day of the week we open the milk on the top so that helps LOL. Glad you got a fan though. Adore your mushroom card and really love the strips too. Great that the light works for you - good choice. Hugs Bj#10
I am glad you got a fan to help with the heat.. the ICAD with the strips of card is brilliant, what a great way to use up scraps. Happy WOYWW and stay cool. helen #1
Hello Angela, that fan must be a godsend just now. The toadstool piece is lovely and so are the ICADs. My favourite is the one with the poppies. The strips are a great way of using up scraps of paper. I will be checking out that light too. Have a lovely week. Elizabeth #10
That piece with the toadstools you did is absolutely frame worthy. I love how the somber color scheme, the textures, and the imagery. Stay cool and happy WOYWW!
Love the art work Angela - especially those toadstools. Hope you are surviving the heat somehow. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
