Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Sarah's Craftshed and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.
Oh woe is me! I have a cold! My trigeminal pain is two steps forward one step back! Enough of that.
I watched a tutorial by Margaret of Vintage Journals. I thought I would make one after I had finished tidying my room.
It is getting there. Corners are the bane of my life! In one particular corner I had a box labelled "journals" and also a top box was labelled "journals". Would they all fit in the one box? Answer no! The small box is about shoebox size. In the big box I found several I had made the same type as I was about to make.😳
More journals where the red dots are, incidentally, the picture of the horses is a glass cutting mat which my daughter brought me home from Australia, I can't bring myself to use it.
It just goes on !! I watched yet another tutorial for a book: Australian Piano Hinge Binding. This in connection with a free course that starts in April, the idea is to use the book throughout the course. Would you believe I have just spent half hour looking for the file because I had named it Sarah Matthews instead of Australian Piano Hinge Binding.😖 She was saying that she finds journal making soothing, just cut and fold the parts and put it all together. I wondered if that's why I had so many?
The desk. I have two rolls of paper to cut up and I bought myself a little sewing machine.
I am just tossing this one in. These small strips are from scrapbook paper that I keep looking at, but feel they are too thick for my collages. I had the idea of taking a photograph and printing them on paper and I also wondered about using them as templates for other digital paper.

You have been busy! I laughed at your comment about Corners, hope they don’t drive you too batty! The piano hinge tech sounds interesting, I’m not quite sure what it involves but hope you have fun with it. Sorry you’ve got a cold, that really mustn’t help the nerve pain.
Hugs and Happy Easter!

I hope your cold’s better soon. Lots of hot honey lemon and ginger is my recipe. Sorry to hear trigeminal nerve pain is worse. I was recommended a warm compress for my facial nerve issues. Would it help with yours?
Your woody strips look like they could form a back for one of your journal projects?
Happy WOYWW and Easter
Hugs

You and others! are making me feel even more guilty!! I just have to get started on sorting my cabin. It's got to the stage where I can't actually get into some drawers without shifting loads of stuff first. I am a disgrace! Hope the cold doesn't last too long. Wishing you a very happy woyww with hugs Angela x5x
Oh do tell me how you get on with the mini sewing machine. I got a tiny one but it was rubbish. The singer one I did try at a friends and much better. Is yours an electric one? Gosh Loads of journals, super loads LOL. Love the little strips at the end hope you find a good place for them. Hugs Bj#6
hope you get over the cold soon; and enjoy the new book course. not sure you need to make any more though...!! Happy WOYWW and happy Easter Helen#1
I've got a box of books and journals waiting to be put to use. I need to be inspired I think!. Book binding fascinates me - I love to watch the little chap on the Repair Shop. x x Jo i
Hi Angela, I saw your question about the Ledger journal. The pages are 180gsm. it's by Dina Wakley. I think they are a bit expensive but I really like it and did get mine when AALL and Create had a sale on so a bit cheaper. We think we've found someone that can fix my laptop but not sure when I'll get it back as we're getting closer to Easter and the guy is going away for a week so it might be a couple of weeks before it's fixed. Happy woyww Easter hugs, the other Angela Hee! Hee! xXx
Happy Belated WOYWW. Get well soon from the cold. We have both had one, and now hay fever is starting as the tree pollen is high this week. I don't get it badly, thankfully, just a bit sneezy. I used to make journals etc, but that was another craft I 'decluttered'. I do actually want a book to journal in, so might look for an easy way to make something from scrap cardboard etc. Great idea to use those scraps as a digital file. I must scan the small collection of papers I have. Happy Easter. Ali x #11
Sorry to hear about your cold, so I pray you're better soon. I love bookmaking too, and have been using one I made for my art journaling lately. Blessings!
So SOrry about your cold🤒 hope you feel better soon. I wish I had a bunch of journals I could start, I have to make a new JAYA Journal for myself, but time seems to be going by faster and faster every day! Happy Easter🐰🐣Lindart #12
I think we have an equal amount of journals... the piano hinge sounds interesting though.
Happy Easter and Happy WOYWW! Susan #10
Had to look up Trigeminal neuralgia - sounds horrible, sorry to hear you are suffering this! Hope the cold goes soon. I love tidying my craft room, think its actually taking over from the crafting. I'd love a little sewing machine to do a bit of stitsching but have held off buting one, just another thing to find space for!!
Happy Easter = sorry it's so late! Love n hugs Cindyxx #9
Sorry for the generic comment, but I wanted to at least show my face before the next WOYWW comes around. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
