WOYWW 833

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Sarah's Craftshed and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

So I made another mess 🤣. I read that if you wet the paper you are sticking down it won’t buckle.  Perhaps it was too wet because it buckled badly, ruining the page.  Since I was using a colouring book, nothing was really wasted except my time and effort. I decided to cut my losses and tear the page out.  Determined to have something to show today, I did this page yesterday.

I have been following a lettering course with Christie.  It’s something I have had a go at in the past, in that I bought a couple of magazines and some brush pens for lettering.  Far too much practicing involved for me!  I prefer this style:

I have been using the AI image creator again.  I haven’t quite found the right words to get it to obey, I have tried “no people”,  “devoid of people”. and “no one about”, it totally ignores me!  I tried “Christmas card scene of Bethlehem” and it gave me a Nativity in the middle of a crowded city with animals everywhere 🤣🤣.  I kid you not.  I was trying to get a group of houses like those that appear on Christmas cards of Bethlehem.  The idea seems so simple, tell it what to do and hey presto! your image 🤣.

My favourites: Impressionist bird singing; Mixed media bird; Dala Horse

Someone told me I was slow to respond to her messages so I decided to try a whacky image for her.  And then I did a couple more:

Oddly enough AI likes whacky!

Off to link up x

Hi Angela, I think you need to spray the paper very lightly but I think it depends on the thickness of the paper too. Apart from that it looks like you've been having fun, love the Whacky page, great images. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

Loving those AI images Angela - especially the whacky ones. Trying to visit all tonight as I have workmen coming tomorrow to sort the rotten gatepost and rehang the gate. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

Hi Angela, saw your question about the stencil. It doesn't say who the designer is but the make is Stencil Girl Products got it from the Stampers Grove. Happy crafting, Angela x10x

Hello Angela, you seem to enjoy trying out new techniques and new technology. The collage is beautiful and AI images are impressive. Did you try commanding something like 'houses only' or something along those lines? I expect you'll crack the code very soon. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #12

Oh having a giggle at you AI image attempts, what app/programme are you using? Defo heard about the wetting paper thing. Used it when covering boxes with pre-painted papers. It seemed to work then but not an easy process. I use wet glue and go with the crinkle effect mostly, depends what it is you are using it for I guess. Love the pink butterfly page and your lettering. The little bird pictures are lovely too, whacky certainly intersting. Hugs BJ#1

Would it help to tape the paper to a board before you start? It’s what I do for watercolours. Your pink butterfly page and the little birds are beautiful.
Have a good week
