Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Sarah's Craftshed and have a look to see what everyone has been doing.

Still in the caravan, but home soon!

This is what my crafting table looked like on Monday.

Since then I have finished my Stag and used up the remaining paint on my two concertina books that I made a few weeks ago.  You can see them drying.  I only wanted a hint of colour, but even so I was surprised I covered one and a half books.  One of the books has caused me a lot of trouble in getting the width of the sides equal, I really must pack a scoring board next time.

I have been on a diet this month to hopefully push my diabetes diagnosis back.  I have lost weight, but not having the scales I shall have to wait until we get back to find out how much.  Suffice to say my clothes are more comfortable than they were.   I have to have another blood test when we get back, but apparently any changes do not show for 3 months.

A digital creation using the an image (on the right) free from Gecko Galz for September Steampunk Challenge.

My next challenge is to sew up this toy seat, having been volunteered for the job my my husband.  It belongs to his great nephew and I am starting right after I post this.

My visitors have gone, but another one expected Thursday.  When we were out shopping, my friend Lesley bought me this cute bat.  It is a "Warmie" meaning you can put it in the microwave to heat up the lavender bag in his tummy!  Black of course is difficult to photograph.  x

My crafting (caravan) table yesterday.  I was in the middle of making two journals, but my husband wanted me to start this project.  The deer was from a decoupage kit my daughter bought me last Christmas.  I have covered it with texture paste and the next stage is painting.

The original method was to create pages as you went along, I really didn't like that method.  Then I tried again using larger pieces of paper,  that was fine, but I thought I'd try making one long piece and then folding it up.  There are three thin layers, plus a layer of gesso.  This was a much quicker method, but as always, the folding caused me problems.  I didn't take a scoring board which would have helped, but I am just not good at keeping everything straight without some refolding!

We now have visitors so all crafting on hold for a week.  Hoping I can get round to everyone still x.

In the awning of the caravan once more, this time looking after my MIL, not that there is a lot of looking after involved as she is very independent.  We took her to the hospital last Friday to have a lump removed from her face, the doctors today and a hearing check up tomorrow, Friday doctors again to get her wound checked.

I have been doing some crafting.  Over the weekend I decorated a zine, a challenge for The Ugly Art site.

Monday I started making a journal,  I brought some papers with me to use up.  I quite like working in the concertina type journals, I have developed an easier (for me) way of making them.

Short and sweet this week. x
