Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing. I am afraid this post is a bit of a non event as I have not been well. Spent 19 hours in A&E last Thursday/Friday. I went in as I had chest pain, the trouble is I have arthritis of the rib cage (costochondritis) which can mimic heart pain. I suspect it had flared up with doing too much the week before. As they say - better to be safe than sorry! Then I spent the next few days getting over my visit to A&E. My husband came back from Spain Monday, so my world is returning to normal!

Ending on a happy note.  My husband brought me a handbag and some Channel no 5 from Spain and my daughter (who was with me in A&E) bought me a Yankee Advent calendar to cheer me up.

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing. This week I have again been doing both digital and also in my craft room.

I attended the Bible Journaling Conference Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week.  As it was in American time the sessions didn’t start until the afternoon and went on till 1 am!  I didn’t have any intentions of staying up, but as my husband was away that’s what I did.  I didn’t know what to expect. But I enjoyed it all.  It was a very full three days.  One of the crafts was an envelope book which I made more or less as per instructions.  I covered the from and back with some paper, that I decided I really didn’t like.  Another craft was to brayer paint on waxed paper and use that to print off the paint.  I used ordinary paper to paint my envelope book - instant happiness!

I have nearly finished my study of the Psalms.  I have been making notes on my IPad.  I have printed off half my notes and put them in my Psalm Book.  Some of my notes were longer than others so some pages have two or three strips on them.

Yesterday I designed some cards for my envelope book and made another card for the Cat Lovers Christmas challenge.   It was my birthday yesterday and I spent the evening watching Miss Marple with Joan Hickson, the best Miss Marple I think.  My daughter was coming round, but I spent most of the afternoon in bed - I think I may have been over doing it a bit!  So she is coming today instead.

I am entering this card in the Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge, The TicTacToe challenge on the same link and The Cats Challenge at LostCoast.  Saturday's card and inks on embossed card is here

Well that’s it from me x,

The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge

The Cat Lovers Christmas challenge is on now, come and join in the fun.  I made a card for the TicTacToe challenge   I chose Die cut, Glitter and Embossing.  I wanted to use inks on the embossed card.  I wasn't sure about the first one, so I had another go and finished off with a metallic gilding cream.  The one on the right was the first one I did.

I used an Inkylicious stamp on a diecut and used glitter pens and ink for the colouring.

The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge: Remembering Janis Woolbright

The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge: Remembering Janis Woolbright has started.  All the details an be found on the start page.
There is an amazing list of sponsors and there will be games, quizzes and fun, so come and join in.

Today one of the sponsors is Inkylicious.  I was lucky enough to win a lovely Inkylicious Christmas set last year.  I stamped out the image a few times and coloured them in using Crafter’s Companion glitter pens.  Then I backed them with a patterned card.

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing. This week I have again been doing both digital and also in my craft room.  My post for the Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge: Remembering Janis Woolbright follows this one as I have an idea this might be a little long.

I made another journal and gave covered it and last weeks one. Really happy with both of them.  A slightly different design.  Some people said they weren't sure how I had made these so I thought I might post the details in a separate page.

Second I had another go at neuroscience art.  I decided I would use my Hunkydory brush pens.  I used the black one first and it struggled with the amount of work it had to do, then I added the colours, some were more juicy than others, for the ones that were not juicy the coverage was patchy. I did wonder if it was the cheap paper that made the pens patchy.  Next up was my acrylic paint and brayers.  I tried to brayer off most of the paint first, finishing off with a gold that had gone very weird in consistency.  I was having such a good time I did two more.  Thinking of Mary Anne's circles, I held them against the window and I really liked the difference it made.

Thirdly I made some paper dolls.  I started off with a black and white sketch from Pixabay.  I altered her slightly, coloured her face and neck and then used my new papers to make her dress, scarf and hat.  Finally I made some flowers!

I am finishing with photographs I took of a local postbox. xx

Welcome to Crafting With Jack and What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a day when we link up to Julia's Stamping Ground and have a look to see what everyone has been doing. This week I have again been doing both digital and also in my craft room.  Yesterday The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge: Remembering Janis Woolbright started.  All the details can be found on the start page.

I made a journal out of a pad of 12 x 12 papers.  It is based on an envelope journal which I mucked up from the start because I didn't add any overlap!  I carried on regardless and then realized I didn't like some of the patterns next to each other.  So I designed some new papers and used them to cover the corner pocket and the slight gap between the flaps.  I also designed some toadstools, one set quite colourful.

My initial plan was to collage each flap, but there was too much pattern everywhere, so some flaps I cut off and I made a full page flap.  I used the reverse of some pages to make backgrounds and cover the flap on the left.

This journal used about 14 12 x 12 papers, but there are 48 in the pad so my "use it up" policy progresses slowly!  Finally my desk, busy, messy and you can't see the floor 😃.
