For Unto us is born a Son

The embossed picture below is the same as the one above,  the one above I sandpapered the snowflakes to bring back the white, they were taken at different times of the day so the light was different.

I used glossy photo paper, embossed it and took the top of a blue glitter pen that wasn't functioning well, and painted the ink across the paper.  Then I used sandpaper to take the blue off the snowflakes.  I couldn't find anything in my stash suitable as the focal point.  The picture reminded me of Christmas Eve and I wanted something that referred to that night.  I was thinking of the words of a hymn or Bible verse.  I googled "Unto us is born a son" for inspiration and saw two Verses written with "For" and "Given" standing out and I thought wow!  Jesus was born so we could be forgiven.  I had not really thought about the verse in that way before.  So that is how I wrote it.

So that's my crafting for today and my entry for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop.  I will be back tomorrow, see you then x

Merry Christmas card

Using a Dawn Wheeler digital stamp that I got free in Papercrafter magazine, I created this card today for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop.

I have had visitors today so I am posting rather late and now I am off to bed so I will see you tomorrow x

Steampunk Tea Time

The digital stamp I used for the above card was free with the Outlaws Progressive Challenge and is by The Paper Shelter and is called "It's Tea Time".   This is my entry today for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop.

I will be back tomorrow, I hope I will see you then x

Embossed-card bauble card

Today I have been doing crafty bits of this and that.  I made a few more baubles from the outline stickers, did some colouring, got into a mess with glitter pens that either scratched or flooded and made some different baubles from some embossed glossy photo card.  I used some glitter paste from Imagination Crafts that had dried up somewhat and some Viva Inka Gold blue that was just workable, the violet had gone hard.  It's a bit annoying considering the price of these things!  If you know what to add to make these products workable please let me know.

So that's my crafting today and my entry into LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop, see you tomorrow x

What became of the monkey?

The Sunday challenge at the Outlawz is Songs and Rhymes and this is the latest song:

We went to the animal fair,
The birds and the beasts were there.
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his golden hair.
The monkey fell out of his bunk,
And slid down the elephants trunk.
The elephant sneezed - Achoo!
And fell on her knees
And what became of the monkey;
Monkey, monkey, monkey?

The monkey was from Clker, slightly edited for colour, and the elephant was a public domain line drawing that I coloured in.  This is also my craft for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop.

Envelope card1 and WOYWW 586

A couple of weeks Susan, of Calling All Crafters, had 2 envelope cards on her blog.  They were both made from one sheet of A4 card.  Susan gave the link to the YouTube video and this is it here:   YouTube

The tutorial shows you how to make two different envelope cards.  This is one of them, I hope to show the other tomorrow.

It's Wednesday and that means What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and I shall be linking up at The Stamping Ground.  My work area is still busy and you can see the triangular pieces ready for the envelope card on the left and a pile of stickers on the right.  Below is a close up of the colouring I have been doing and the baubles I made yesterday.

Still plenty of time to join me in the LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop and I will be back tomorrow x

Christmas Baubles

Continuing with my excess of outline stickers, I had a new idea today.  I had several packs of Christmas borders and I laid them on a piece of A4 card.  Once I had enough strips I used my large punch to cut out some circles.  There wasn't much colouring in the stickers and I used Sparkle pens for the backgrounds.  I meant to colour in the holly leaves with the sentiment, I can do that tomorrow,

I seem to have got stuck on Christmas cards for this challenge at LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home, but while the stuff is all over my desk I guess I will keep on going.  See you tomorrow x

O Holy Night

I did both images below with my promarkers, the dark blue was running out and looks messy even though I went over it repeatedly to blend it in.  The one on the left is the second one I did and the better one I think. However I scanned them both and used the one on the left to make the top picture.  To do this I changed the gold outline to black, took out the existing sky and added a new one.  I changed the colour of the buildings and foreground.  I added the stars and the verse,

I was very happy with the way the card at the top turned out.  So this is today's entry for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop.

Join me tomorrow x

We Three Kings

Today I have been using Promarkers with the outline stickers.   I tried to lighten the orange by mixing it with yellow, but it looked a bit streaky when I had finished as you can see below.  I loaded the image into Photoshop Elements and used a filter to blend the colours.  Above is the finished card and my entry for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop and also for Ikes World Challenges which is T for Three of a kind.

Hope your weekend has gone well and you have a great week x

Multi pocket card or page

Today I visited Susan of Calling All Crafters Blog, she had made a multi pocket that she had seen on Karen's blog, Creativeseconds.  Karen calls it a 4 pocket fold up for junk journals and she has a video showing how to do it and it is remarkable easy!  I made Christmassy ones using some free paper from a magazine,  The first one I tried I thought the paper was too thick.

So that is my craft for LeighSBDesigns Stay Crafty @ Home hop today.  This afternoon I popped around to my sisters to watch "Flicka" a Disney film about a horse.  We both cried near the end when it looked like the horse was going to die, but he didn't so we were both happy :)  See you tomorrow x
