WOYWW 568 Paint and exercises

I can't believe it is Wednesday already!  Time for another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, teaming up with a group of really lovely people and linking up at Julia over at Stamping-Ground.  Today I have been working on some backgrounds with my brayer.  I have done this before, but I was trying for a lighter background.  The first try was definitely too heavy and was binned.  I realise I like it when the roller had already had a couple of runs and there was less paint on it.  I remembered seeing someone using a brayer and paint on a separate card first, so that is what I did.

My darling little Dolly has a luxating patella, which means her knee joint slips out.  Having googled the subject I have been trying some exercises with her.  Going over the poles was one, but I had problems trying to stretch my arms. My sister came up with a mini steps idea.  My wonderful husband made a set and I sit next to it and get her to go up and over and back again.  She is not allowed to play wit…

WOYWW 567

It's another Wednesday and it's another "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Our host, where you can check out all the other desks, is Julia at the Stamping Ground.  As you know I have been having problems getting onto Julia's site the last few weeks, yesterday the problem was fixed!  I had activated BT web protect a few weeks ago, and that was where the conflict was.  The BT engineer was advising us on the importance of internet protection and that's when I remembered.  So I removed the software and Bingo!  In an effort to find the problem I had deleted Google Chrome in favour of Microsoft Edge.  Obviously I am more familiar with Chrome so I am deciding whether to go to it.  Decisions, decisions!

Onto my desk:

I am working on a folio/folder.  Having watched people used wet glue for albums, I used wet glue instead of tape.   I think the glue was too wet as there was a lot of warping.  I either used too much or the wrong glue!  However I am still pleased with my …

Happy Easter free images

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.  Today is Good Friday and I have watched two services by my local church on FaceBook, one was an all age service and one was a quiet contemplation.  I enjoyed them both.  I have some of my designs to share with you today.  They are my designs so please don't share them with anybody else.

As you can see there is quite a variety here including the last one underneath.  Stay safe, I am hoping for some sunshine so we can enjoy sitting in the garden. x Angela.

WOYWW 566 free vintage Easter verses

It's Wednesday and that means What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Our host is Julia over at The Stamping Ground.  I have been having trouble connecting (which nobody else seems to have) .

Now you must admit this looks pretty impressive!  Actually this was taken yesterday after a little clean up :)

This is today, I am working on a folio folder.  I started day before yesterday, but was not happy!  Using the left over kraft envelopes I decided to make pockets.
I realised I should have covered them first!  So back to the starting board, this time I have designed a template for the pockets, more of that to come.
Having dealt with the Papermania cards I turned my attention to the envelopes.  (see yesterday's post) One of my favourite methods for making little books or albums is the duct tape method. Normally you attach folded cards together using the tape.  I have a tutorial here.  For these envelope albums I did things just slightly differently.  First I glued all the envelopes c…

Papermania Tall Kraft Cards and free vintage Easter verses

Last year (or maybe the year before) I bought some Papermania Tall Kraft cards at a garden centre, they were in a sale and I bought 2 packs.  I thought they were a bargain, turns out you can buy them cheaper now than the price I paid!  I didn’t like them when I finally got round to opening the packets. I liked the outside colour, but not the inside colour and at 300 gsm they were much thicker than the Hobbycraft 240 gsm cards.  By having the outside on the inside, I could cover the front and I made about 6 cards, but if I don’t like something it doesn’t fill me with enthusiasm.  I could and should have given them to the charity shop at that point, but instead they sat at the back of a drawer, out of sight and out of mind!  Lately, however I have been trying to use stuff or get rid of stuff.  So I set my mind to thinking about these cards.  The cards are 10.5 cm by 21.5 cm(4 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches) and the envelope are 11 cm by nearly 22 cm.  I thought they were too tall for cards (my hus…

WOYWW 565

It's another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, our host is Julia over at The Stamping Ground, where a group of us get together to show what we are up to.

As usual not so tidy desk when I am working!  The little suitcase on the left holds my washi tape, I have been using colouring pencils for the art prompts I have been working on  and also did a cat's eye, see post here for more information.  I put the eye and two of the prompts in my new journal, which started off as a RHS Diary.

The pictures in it are really beautiful which sent me Googling to see if I could find the originals.  I spent an hour downloading similar art and then remembered I had decided not to download any more pictures :(

My altered diary started off as a food diary, which lasted 3 days - my husband made a cake, no way was I going to write cake down in a food diary!  So I removed the first few pages and also some others, to stop it becoming too thick.  I printed out pages with the days of the week, squares …
